Both are made by IKEHIKO in Japan with the same breathable pipe structure. The Hiba Pipe Pillow uses Aomori cypress essence (Hinokitiol) for strong antibacterial and deodorizing properties. The Charcoal Pipe Pillow uses Fukuoka bamboo charcoal that specifically decomposes Nonanal (aging odor), verified by third-party testing. Choose Hiba for antibacterial protection, Charcoal for odor control.
Are these pillows made in Japan?
Yes. All products are manufactured by IKEHIKO Corporation in their own factory in Japan. The Hiba cypress essence comes from Aomori Prefecture, and the bamboo charcoal from Fukuoka Prefecture.
What is igusa (rush grass)?
Igusa (い草) is a natural rush grass traditionally used in Japanese tatami mats and bedding. It absorbs humidity, purifies air, and feels cool to the touch. Our Igusa Flat Pillow uses 100% Kyushu-grown Japanese igusa with thicker, more durable fibers.
